Good thing I took lots of pictures

because I'm too tired to write much.. We've been potty training around here this week, so it's kind of a miracle that I finished 3 nursing covers yesterday. Well, maybe not... I sew when I'm stressed.
These three covers are adorned with some of the vintage lace my grandmother gave me at our last visit. I need to post a picture of the stash she sent home with me some time!

 

A Gift

Just finished this one for my neighbor and her sweet little boy (born Saturday!) He was a little early and I was a little late but anyway, I hope she likes it! Can't wait to go meet that sweet little baby!

Heirloom Chenille Quilt

I found this amazing tutorial on Pinterest and had to try it. And it's baby central around here! Six (count 'em, 6) babies due from June-August. Ca---razy. Anyway, I decided to make this one for my friend's baby. The tutorial I used is GREAT and the finished product is AMAZING but I do not have the machine for it at all. It would have been much easier with a long-armed sewing machine. But I pushed through and was totally excited with the end result. Here you go:

A Flyer

So, I've been told by a very business savvy friend of mine that I need to create some flyers.... Not exactly my cup of tea but since I'm laid up with a horrible cold, nothing much to do but play on the computer, I gave it a shot. Let me know what you think. Be honest because if you don't like it, chances are other people won't either. I'm thinking I should have studied advertising instead of Psychology. It would be much more helpful right about now! 

I've looked up a few articles online about creating flyers but I get about two lines read and then can't stand it anymore. I'm pretty sure my iPhone has wrecked my attention span. Thanks in advance for all the helpful feedback!

A New Blog

Hello! Thanks for checking out my blog! This will be my first blog post here! So, I guess it is where I will introduce myself.

My name is Angela Hudler and I'm the founder of Modest Mammas. I love sewing and creating things and Modest Mammas allows me to do that a little bit more than I could otherwise. 

I met my husband, Nathan, our freshman year of college at Sam Houston State University. We got married a few weeks after graduation and will be married 6 years this month. I'm a stay at home mom with one son, Owen, who is two and a half. We stay very busy and he definitely keeps me on my toes. We are about to get serious about this potty training business, so if you have any tips, I'd love to hear them! 

My husband is about to start his last year at Dallas Theological Seminary and we are looking forward to him starting full time ministry. I built him a website a couple weeks ago. You should go to www.nathanhudlerministries.com and check it out.
My Family:

I am currently involved in the women's ministry at our church and the craft co-coordinator for my local MOPS group. I'm a total Pinterest fiend and you can find lots of cool MOPS crafts that I've found on my board if you are interested. 

I love trying new crafts and occasionally even attempt some heavy duty projects on my own. I'd like to post on here some of the projects I tackle in addition to the things I sell on my etsy site. I almost always forget to take before pictures and then I kick myself afterwards! But I just got a super awesome camera for my birthday so maybe that will encourage me to take more before photos. But for now, here's a few pictures of my sweet little boy. :)
